Thomas J. Roberts
Vice President and Division General Manager
Thomas J. Roberts has served as Vice President and General Manager
of VerticalNet's Small/Medium Business Group (SMB) since June
2001. He is responsible for enhancing the lead-generation capabilities
of the Company's 59 industry marketplaces, strengthening the quality
and depth of its existing supplier network, and increasing the
division's profit margins. Mr. Roberts joined VerticalNet in August
2000, and served as Vice President of Strategy prior to his current
assignment. Prior to joining VerticalNet, Mr. Roberts was a Vice
President and Partner with Mercer Management Consulting where
he was employed from 1993-2000. He received his MBA and BA from
the University of Michigan.
Jeffrey T. Baker
General Counsel & Vice President of
Business Affairs
Jeffrey T. Baker serves as General Counsel and Vice President
of Business Affairs of VerticalNet's Small/Medium Business Group
(SMB). In his current role, Mr. Baker is responsible for managing
the day-to-day legal and administrative affairs of the division,
overseeing the implementation of our partner relationships, and
leading strategic cost containment decisions. Prior to joining
VerticalNet in June of 1999, Mr. Baker was an attorney at Gawthrop,
Greenwood and Halsted, where his practice primarily focused on
technology and corporate law. He received his Bachelor of Arts
degree at Villanova University and his Juris Doctorate from Villanova
University School of Law.
Stephen C. Eckfield
Vice President of Sales and Marketing
Stephen C. Eckfield is responsible for all sales and marketing
efforts for VerticalNet's Small/Medium Business Group (SMB). He
joined VerticalNet in 1997 as Manager of Operations, with responsibility
for client support, product development, editorial, web development,
and product fulfillment. Prior to his current role, Mr. Eckfield
served as Vice President of Sales and Client Services, as well
as Vice President of Strategy and Business Development in the
Global Client Support and Services group.
Before joining VerticalNet, Mr. Eckfield was Director of Business Development for Intelligent Electronics, InteLogistics Division. While with Intelligent Electronics, he also held positions as Director of Collections, Territory Sales Manager, Customer Service Manager and Supervisor of Purchasing, Hardware Lines.
Mr. Eckfield majored in Business Administration while attending Penn State University and West Chester University and has studied corporate re-engineering at Columbia Business School.
Randall T. Hoerauf
Vice President of Business Development and Alliances
Randall T. Hoerauf was appointed Vice President of Business Development
and Alliances of VerticalNet's Small/Medium Business Group (SMB)
following stints as Senior Director of eCommerce Products and
Senior Director of Corporate Development Operations for VerticalNet.
In his current role, Mr. Hoerauf is responsible for distribution
channel partnerships, corporate alliances and PSN product development,
program development and sales.
Prior to joining VerticalNet in January 2000, he served in roles ranging from CEO, COO, CFO, VP of Mergers and Acquisitions and General Manager with companies such as Internos Corporation, Atlas Travel Technologies, Senior Campus Living and British Aerospace. Mr. Hoerauf received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland, studied Strategic Management at INSEAD University in Fontainebleau, France and is a CPA.
Rick A. Reddel
Vice President of Operations
Rick A. Reddel heads up the Operations teams of VerticalNet's
Small/Medium Business Group (SMB) following his positions as VP
of Product Development for VerticalNet Markets and Director of
Client Development. SMB Operations manages the 59 industry specific
vertical market websites including the development and maintenance
of the software that runs them, the production and publication
of content that is on them, and the outreach and syndication programs
that extends them. SMB Operations contains: Product and Project
Management, Application Development, Quality Assurance, IT, Site
and Newsletter Production, Client Services, and Audience Development.
Prior to joining VerticalNet in December 1999, Rick co-founded TextileWeb, Inc. which was acquired in 1999 by VerticalNet to be the industry specific marketplace serving the global textile industry. He has over 12 years experience holding Engineering and Operations management positions for two enterprise level manufacturing companies. Mr. Reddel earned his Bachelor's of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering and Minor in Business Administration from Colorado State University in 1986.
